New England Disabled Sports is a nationally recognized adaptive sports program and non-profit organization located at Loon Mountain ski area in Lincoln, New Hampshire.  They offer year-round sports instruction to adults and children living with physical and cognitive disabilities.  In the winter, they teach skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and more.  In the summer, students can take lessons in rock climbing, kayaking, cycling, paddleboarding, and more.  New England Disabled Sports is a chapter of Disabled Sports USA.
The LoveYourBrain Foundation (LYB) is a non-profit organization that improves the quality of life for people affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI), and raises awareness about the importance of brain health.  LYB was founded by brothers Adam and Kevin Pearce in 2014.  Kevin, once a world-class professional snowboarder, sustained a TBI while training for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.  Kevin’s story was chronicled in the award-winning HBO Documentary The Crash Reel.”  Each year, over 2.8 million people sustain a TBI—from concussions to severe injury—in the United States.  Unlike most injuries, TBI often leads to lifelong physical, behavioral, and emotional challenges that are largely invisible.  As a result, many people affected by TBI lack the support and understanding they deserve.  LYB is there to offer that support.
The Road 2 Recovery Foundation started out by providing financial assistance to licensed professional motocross and supercross riders in the event they sustain career-ending injuries.  Alongside the racers, the Foundation is also dedicated to providing emotional and spiritual support to the athletes families.  In 2014, Road 2 Recovery merged with the non-profit Athlete Recovery Fund in an effort to expand their support to all action sports athletes.  Road 2 Recovery now offers help to athletes across BMX, FMX, skate, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobile, surfing, mountain biking, and wakeboarding.  The organization has raised over $6 million to support injured athletes.
The High Fives Foundation focuses on preventing life-changing injuries in outdoor sports through safety and education programs, including a campaign called Helmets Are Cool.  The organization also provides resources and hope in the form of grants and community outreach if those severe injuries occur.  Since launching in Truckee, California, in 2009, High Fives has become the safety net of the outdoor community across mountain sports and has distributed over $2.7 million in board-approved Empowerment Grants.
